Use Hindi OCR for clear printed Devanagari text. The result is Unicode, so it can be pasted into a document editor or used in another tool without installing a legacy font. Review the extracted text alongside the original before publishing or translating it.
The current service recognizes English, Hindi and Sanskrit. It does not translate your text or silently rewrite words. OCR can make mistakes, particularly in dense Sanskrit verses, small print and faded scans. Proofreading remains part of the process.
For the best result
- Select Hindi before starting recognition.
- Keep vowel marks, punctuation and the top of each line inside the image.
- For a Sanskrit/Hindi book spread, use the two-column option to preserve reading order.
- Proofread similar-looking conjuncts, numbers, anusvara and visarga.

Does Hindi OCR translate the text?+
No. OCR extracts the text in its original language. Translation is not part of this version.
Does it work with PDFs?+
Yes. Select a PDF and choose the original PDF page range you need.
How accurate is the result?+
Clear print works best, but accuracy depends on resolution, font and scan quality. Confidence is an estimate, not a guarantee.
